OUR HISTORY

APRIL 1999- AUGUST 1999

SETTLE INN (114TH AND DODGE)

WE DECIDED THAT WE WOULD BEGIN OUR CHURCH IN A CONFERENCE ROOM AT A LOCAL HOTEL ON SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 1999. WE REMAINED AT THIS LOCATION FOR FOUR MONTHS UNTIL WE FOUND A STORE-FRONT THAT WE COULD SCARCELY AFFORD. WE WERE SMALL AND NERVOUS BUT WE’VE STEPPED OUT ON FAITH ONCE; WE COULD DO IT AGAIN.

PHASE 1

SEPTEMBER 1999 - DECEMBER 2000

5968 WENNINGHOFF ROAD

ONCE WE HAD A BUILDING, OUR CHURCH REALLY BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE GROWTH AND THE BLESSINGS OF THE LORD. OUR STOREFRONT COULD SEAT ABOUT 35-45 PEOPLE COMFORTABLY AND OUR MISSION WAS TO FILL IT UP AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. IT TOOK ABOUT A YEAR FOR US TO REALIZE THAT THIS STOREFRONT WAS NO LONGER BIG ENOUGH. THE BAY NEXT TO OURS CAME OPEN FOR RENT. AGAIN, IT WAS A BIGGER FINANCIAL COMMITMENT BUT YET WE NEEDED THE BUILDING. WE WERE GROWING AND NERVOUS BUT WE’VE STEPPED OUT ON FAITH TWICE; WE COULD DO IT AGAIN.

PHASE 2

JANUARY 2001 - JUNE 2002

5968 WENNINGHOFF ROAD

WE EXPANDED OUR CHURCH AND WAS NOW ABLE TO SEAT ABOUT 75-85 PEOPLE COMFORTABLY. AGAIN OUR MISSION WAS TO FILL IT UP AGAIN SO THAT WE WOULD BE FORCED TO FIND A BIGGER AND BETTER LOCATION SO WE COULD CONTINUE TO GROW FOR THE GLORY OF GOD. AND WE BEGAN TO DO JUST THAT. IN JANUARY 2002, WE LOOKED AT A CHURCH BUILDING THAT WAS FOR SALE. WE WERE AVERAGING AROUND 50-60 PEOPLE CONSISTENTLY AND THE CHURCH THAT WE LOOKED AT COULD SEAT, 180-200 PEOPLE. IT WAS A LARGE BUILDING, ESPECIALLY COMPARED TO WHAT WE HAVE HAD IN THE PAST, BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT SEEMED TO BE WAY OUT OF OUR PRICE RANGE. WE WENT BACK TO OUR PRESENT LOCATION AND TRIED OUR BEST TO FILL IT UP. AND IN JUST A FEW MONTHS WE WERE AVERAGING AROUND 70 PEOPLE AND THE CHURCH WAS LOOKING PRETTY FULL. WE NEEDED TO MOVE BUT WE DID NOT KNOW WHERE, WHEN OR HOW THAT COULD BE POSSIBLE.

PHASE 3

JULY 2002 - FEBRUARY 2006

WHAT SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE WAS ACTUALLY A MIRACLE IN THE MAKING. THE CHURCH BUILDING THAT WE HAD LOOKED AT A FEW MONTHS PRIOR WAS NOW NO LONGER A DREAM BUT WAS A REALITY. THROUGH SEVERAL EVENTS THAT COULD BE DESCRIBED NO LESS THAN MIRACULOUS WE WERE ABLE TO PURCHASE 3 ACRES OF LAND WITH A 13,500 SQ. FT. CHURCH BUILDING THAT WAS READY TO MOVE IT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME SIMPLE COSMETIC CHANGES.

TCOO CONTINUES TO GROW! THE SANCTUARY WAS ONCE AGAIN FILLING UP AND WE COMPLETED A MAJOR, AND I MEAN MAJOR, REMODELING PROJECT. THE SANCTUARY CAN NOW SEAT 350 PEOPLE AND WE UPDATED OUR FOYER WITH AN INFORMATION BOOTH, INCREASED OUR CLASSROOM CAPACITY, ENLARGED OUR FELLOWSHIP AREA AND REMODELED OUR KITCHEN.

OUR CHURCH CONTINUES TO STRIVE TO FULFILL OUR PURPOSE AND WE ARE REAPING THE BENEFITS OF MANY PEOPLE’S UNSELFISH SACRIFICE. WE ARE STILL A YOUNG CHURCH AND WE ARE BELIEVING GOD FOR GREAT THINGS. GLAD YOU ARE APART OF IT! LET’S CONTINUE TO MAKE HISTORY!
